Gotta Shaab El Erg is a large and lively reef area in the northern Red Sea, famous for its rich marine life and the chance to encounter dolphins throughout the year.

The reef is full of activity, with colorful coral formations and a variety of species including unicornfish, scorpionfish, groupers, moray eels, emperor angelfish, and blue-spotted rays. Beneath the large table corals, keep an eye on the sandy areas where whitetip reef sharks can often be found resting.

The sandy channel between the main reef and the Gotta offers a beautiful passage for exploration, where divers can enjoy the calm surroundings and observe the vibrant underwater ecosystem.

Umm Gamar, meaning “Mother of the Moon” in Arabic, is a beautiful offshore island dive site known for its dramatic walls, coral formations, and rich marine life.

The southern part of the island features a shallow plateau where the moorings are located and where most dives begin. From the plateau, divers gradually move east toward the drop-off before following the reef wall to the north.

Along the way, you can explore three impressive pinnacles standing close together, with natural chimney formations reaching toward the surface. After discovering this area, divers can enjoy a gentle drift back with the current toward the plateau, where small ergs covered with glassfish create a beautiful underwater scene.

The dive finishes on the shallow plateau, surrounded by coral heads and colorful reef fish. The east and west sides offer exciting drift dives, while the northern tip features a stunning coral garden that is only accessible in excellent weather conditions.

Strong current coming from the north splitting to the west and east sides. Platform with a drop off on the east side while the west side is slowly going down.

Shabruhr Umm Gamar South is a reef formation that rises from an underwater mountain, offering a unique combination of walls, small caves, and a historic wreck.

The western side features a reef wall descending to around 15 meters, with several small caves and openings to explore along the way. On the southeast side, divers can discover the remains of a small Egyptian patrol boat lying at approximately 25 meters depth.

With its changing underwater landscapes and interesting features, this site offers a memorable dive for those who enjoy exploring reef walls and hidden corners of the Red Sea.

Carless Reef is one of the most famous coral shoals in the Hurghada area, located about one hour by boat from Hurghada. Rising from deep waters, this mid-sea reef plateau creates a spectacular underwater landscape surrounded by the open Red Sea.

The reef is built around two main pinnacles that reach close to the surface. The valley between them, at around 12 meters depth, offers beautiful diving opportunities for different experience levels, especially for divers who prefer exploring reefs without going deep.

Just a few meters east of the saddle, the reef drops into a dramatic wall that extends beyond 40 meters, with interesting formations, small caves, and sheltered areas for more experienced divers.

The site is known for its large gorgonian fans, black coral formations, colorful reef fish, and a large population of moray eels that are often seen around the reef. With good conditions, divers may also encounter whitetip reef sharks resting in the deeper areas.

El Fanous East is a beautiful reef area on the eastern side of El Fanous, known for its impressive coral formations and underwater structures.

The dive site features two main ergs surrounded by several smaller pinnacles, creating an interesting landscape to explore. The formations attract a variety of Red Sea marine life, with colorful reef fish and healthy coral growth around the area.

The combination of pinnacles, coral formations, and open-water surroundings makes El Fanous East an enjoyable dive site for exploring the natural beauty of the Red Sea.

This is a not so well known dive site off the north tip of Grand Giftun island. It's a small horseshoe reef with a shallow swim through to a bowel reef that is absolutely filled with fish and coral

El Fanadir is one of Hurghada’s most versatile dive sites, offering a wide variety of dive profiles suitable for different experience levels and sea conditions.

The reef features beautiful coral formations, sandy slopes, reef walls, and sections ideal for drift diving. Depending on the dive plan, it can accommodate beginner dives, relaxed reef explorations, deeper dives, or enjoyable drift dives, making every visit slightly different.

The area is home to a rich variety of Red Sea marine life, including schools of reef fish, moray eels, scorpionfish, lionfish, blue-spotted rays, and, with a bit of luck, turtles or dolphins passing by.

Abu Nugar is a distinctive T-shaped reef offering a relaxed and enjoyable dive with a variety of underwater landscapes.

The western side features a wide shallow plateau scattered with numerous small ergs and two separate patch reefs, creating an excellent environment for slow exploration. The healthy coral formations provide shelter for a wide range of Red Sea marine life, including colorful reef fish, moray eels, scorpionfish, lionfish, and blue-spotted rays.

The combination of sandy areas, coral heads, and small reef formations makes Abu Nugar an ideal dive site for underwater photography and for divers who enjoy taking their time to observe marine life.

Part of the Abu Nugar , this is a sand bottom with scattered coral heads. Very interesting for seeing little fish and branches since there is enough sand that you can ground yourself withoug worrying about hitting the coral here.

The El Mina was bombed by the Israelis in 1969 in Hurghada bay, but still has a sister ship afloat nearby which is worth looking at to compare to what you are about to dive. The wreck now lies on its side and there are a lot of small holes to peer into and penetration is possible, although tight, through a significant amount of the wreck. Sea urchins are abundant on the wreck and a very large moray was found living in one of the holes. An interesting dive.

Northeast side of big Giftun Island. The reef wall drops to about 12m and then there is a slope to the top of the drop off at about 40m.

Small Giftun South, also known as Police Station, is a beautiful drift dive along the southern side of Giftun Island, known for its impressive reef wall and healthy coral formations.

A gentle current usually carries divers effortlessly along the wall, creating a relaxed and enjoyable drift dive. As the dive continues, the reef opens onto a sandy plateau dotted with coral bommies that provide shelter for a wide variety of Red Sea marine life.

The combination of colorful corals, reef fish, moray eels, blue-spotted rays, and occasional larger pelagic visitors makes every dive unique.

Abu Ramada South is a popular dive site in the Hurghada area, known for its easy access, beautiful reef formations, and relaxed diving conditions.

The southern part of the reef features a wide, shallow plateau where the mooring lines are located, making it the most commonly used starting point for dives. From the plateau, divers can explore coral gardens, sandy patches, and healthy reef formations that are home to a wide variety of Red Sea marine life.

Schools of reef fish, moray eels, scorpionfish, lionfish, and blue-spotted rays are regularly seen, while the calm conditions make the site enjoyable for both newly certified and experienced divers.

With its calm conditions and diverse underwater scenery, Gotta Abu Ramada is suitable for both newly certified and experienced divers looking to enjoy a relaxed reef dive.

Abu Hashish, meaning "Father of Grass" in Arabic, takes its name from the extensive seagrass beds found around the reef, creating an important habitat for many marine species.

The dive begins on a wide sandy plateau between 10 and 20 meters, dotted with coral formations and patches of seagrass. Beyond the plateau, the reef drops into deeper water, offering a beautiful contrast between the shallow reef and the open blue.

The area is home to a wide variety of Red Sea marine life, including reef fish, moray eels, blue-spotted rays, scorpionfish, lionfish, and occasionally turtles feeding in the seagrass beds.
