Marine Yacht | SSI Dive Center | Red Sea, Egypt Another incredible day unfolded aboard the Marine Yacht with the professional crew of the SSI Dive Center, diving two of the Red Sea’s most scenic sites: Hamda (Stone Beach) and Binky Reef. With calm seas, warm water, and excellent visibility, conditions were near perfect — a true showcase of why the Red Sea is considered one of the best diving destinations in the world.
Dive 1: Hamda (Stone Beach) – Calm Coral Reef Exploration
Our first dive took place at Hamda, also known as Stone Beach — a serene reef dive ideal for all certification levels. With no current and crystal-clear visibility, this site allowed for relaxed exploration of its vibrant coral landscape. Highlights:
- A peaceful encounter with a green sea turtle, swimming effortlessly along the reef
- A surprise appearance from a large jackfish in the blue
- A flourishing coral reef system alive with reef fish and macro life
The calm and colorful setting made Hamda a perfect dive for underwater photographers, nature lovers, and newer divers wanting a confidence-building dive.
Dive 2: Binky Reef – Drift Dive Along a Living Wall
The second dive brought a change of pace with a drift dive at the dramatic Binky Reef. We entered the water from the boat and were gently carried along the reef wall by a moderate current, making for a dynamic and energizing experience. Marine sightings included:
- Another sea turtle, adding to the excitement of the day
- A shimmering school of tropical reef fish flowing in harmony across the coral slopes
- A well-camouflaged moray eel nestled in the rocks
Drift diving at Binky Reef offers the perfect blend of thrill and beauty, showcasing both macro life and open blue water action, making it a favorite among experienced divers.
